Andrew E. Wood is an immigration attorney who focuses his practice on family based immigration law, as well as, asylum and removal/deportation cases. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Wood worked throughout Asia, including Thailand, where he lived in 2001 and 2002, as well as Singapore and Sri Lanka, where he implemented a disaster relief program following the 2004 Asian Tsunami. During law school, Mr. Wood was senior editor for JURIST, which awarded him the Excellence of Service Award, JURIST's highest honor. He received the law school's Community Service Award in 2008. Mr. Wood pursued legal studies abroad at the National University of Singapore, with a focus on Southeast Asian Law and International Business Law. Also during law school, Mr. Wood held internships at the Community Legal Education Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia; the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, Philippines; and the Pittsburgh Refugee and Immigration Assistance Center.
Humanitarian efforts still heavily influence Mr. Wood's personal and professional endeavors; he provided pro-bono legal assistance following Hurricane Katrina and has participated in a small micro-lending project in Cambodia.
